Everyone is a
Multiple Personality

We have been led to believe that only the mentally ill have multiple personalities, but in fact it is perfectly natural and normal for a person to be operating from many different perspectives. There are different levels of dysfunction. Some people are more and some are less integrated between their different subpersonas. People get into problems when the different subpersonas are each doing their thing without a centralized observer-self maintaining witness consciousness. It is more likely to be classified as mental illness when the subpersonas are going about their business without the other parts knowing what they are doing.
Most people know they have split motivations but have not  yet  acquired the skill to modify the choices those internal parts are making. In order to become more integrated, it is important to look within and begin to understand some of the ways that we split internally in order to cope with all that life brings us.
Each of those personas is acting out an agenda. Often, these agendas are at odds with one another. For instance, let’s say that there is a person who would love to become a famous rock and roll star, but one of their subpersonas is terrified of being rejected so it has developed a habit of trying to hide in order to stay safe. That person is going to have a pretty hard time being publicly visible if the inner agenda is to be invisible in order to stay safe. Here we have a clear schism, making it more difficult for that person to manifest a conscious goal.
In Chapter 3, we began the process of understanding different levels of inner division, the sum of the parts making the whole. Let’s now divide the subconscious up into several likely subpersona structures that tend to affect the average person.
